HB-200 Polyisobutylene for cable

High molecular weight polyisobutylene has excellent air tightness, heat resistance, electrical insulation, ozone aging resistance, shock absorption and energy absorption. It can be widely used in sealant, adhesive, shock absorption and damping, insulating materials and other industries.

Polyisobutylene is used as a component in cable filling compounds for telecommunications and power cables to provide insulation and protection, as they offer a very high level of oxidative stability as well as resistance to oxidation while under electrical stress.

There are two main reasons for filling underwater cables with PIB: to impart self-healing properties, which will combat potential puncture, and to keep moisture away from the fiber.
